Lord Batuk Bhairav is the symbol of good fortune & fulfillment of desires. In Kali Khand chapter of the Shakti Sangam Tantra (an ancient text) the origin of Batuk Bhairav is mentioned. According to ancient texts/ Vedic scriptures, there was once a demon named Aapad, who have gained a boon from Lord Brahma. He misused his powers & harass every living being in all the three worlds. Tired and tensed due to the demon, all the Gods went to Kailash Shila to seek the help of Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva got furious after hearing the misdeeds of that demon and created an eternal fire body from His third eye. All the other Gods also concentrated to combined their power into that eternal flame. It took the form of a five-year-old child who was the living embodiment of time & space. This boy was named as Batuk Bhairav by Lord Shiva Himself. As the demon received a boon from Brahmadev thats why he cannot be defeated in Past, Present or future time zones. Therefore Lord Batuk paused the Kalachakra i.e. time for some moments to kill the demon Apad. In this way Lord Batuk saved all the living creations of this universe.
