Start with the individual item

Materials, surface finishes, threads and metal settings can need different care. Keep any care instructions supplied with your piece. If a treatment, finish or material is unclear, ask us before cleaning it.

Rudraksha beads & malas

• Handle with clean, dry hands. After use, gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth.
• Avoid prolonged soaking, harsh soaps, perfumes, sanitiser and other chemicals. Remove before swimming, bathing or strenuous activity when practical.
• Allow a damp piece to dry naturally in the shade. Avoid heaters and sustained direct heat.
• Check threads, clasps and mounts periodically. Stop wearing the piece if a thread or fitting becomes loose.
• Do not apply oil, wax or a cleaning solution without advice specific to the bead and its finish. Store dry, with enough space to avoid crushing or tangling.

Shaligrams & devotional pieces

Place on a stable surface and handle carefully, especially around fine ridges, openings and natural features. Use a soft, dry cloth for everyday dust. Avoid abrasive brushes, acids, bleach and household cleaners.

If your practice includes water, milk, oils or other offerings, ask for care advice for that particular piece first. Residue can collect in grooves and may affect a finish or metal mount. Do not leave a damp piece enclosed in storage.

Gemstones & jewellery

• Keep each piece separately in a soft pouch or lined compartment to reduce scratching.
• Protect from knocks, sudden temperature changes and contact with chemicals. Remove jewellery before household cleaning.
• Cleaning depends on the gemstone, treatment and setting. Ask before using a soaking solution, ultrasonic machine or steam cleaner.
• Emeralds may contain fracture fillings that can be affected by heat and chemicals. Avoid ultrasonic and steam cleaning for emeralds; obtain advice for the particular stone and setting.

If a piece is damaged

Keep the item and any loose parts safe. Avoid glue, scraping or improvised repairs. contact our team with photographs and the order number so we can advise on the next step. For an issue present on arrival, please refer to our returns policy.
